Tostitos’ Super Bowl packaging gets you home safely

Football fans all over America are counting the days until the Super Bowl kickoff on February 5. Are you one of them? And do you love to party hardy with a bag of potato chips in one hand and a beer in the other? Then you’re in for a treat this year! Frito-Lay’s Tostitos brand has launched a limited-edition ‘Party Safe’ bag that can tell if you’ve been drinking. No worries, though, it won’t call the cops on you. But it will call you a cab so you can party without a care in the world and still make it home safely.

“Don’t drink and drive”

Goodby Silverstein & Partners, the creative company behind the ‘Party Safe’ bag, equipped the bag with a breath analyzer. If it detects alcohol on someone’s breath, a special sensor turns red and displays a “Don’t drink and drive” message, along with an Uber code. Roger Baran, creative director at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, elaborates on the philosophy behind this innovative packaging concept: “We’re proud to introduce to the world the first bag of chips that gets you home safe. For a football fan, there is a lot of emotion involved in a game. It’s easy to drink more than you planned. And a lot of times all you need to stop short of driving after drinking is a friend who calls you off. On Sunday of the big game, we want Tostitos to be that friend.”

Home’s just a tap away

When a partygoer opts to head home by cab, all they have to do is tap the ‘Party Safe’ bag and an Uber is on its way. In collaboration with Uber, Tostitos will even knock off 10 dollars of the person’s cab fare.   Inspired by Fab News
